The position of **Senior Counsel – Employment** serves as the primary legal advisor to Bally’s management and Human Resources team regarding all employment and labor matters across Bally’s and its subsidiaries (land‑based and online gaming), including potential or threatened litigation. The role helps develop and implement Bally’s overall legal strategy for handling employment matters, coordinating with outside counsel, and advising senior management on risks and avoidance.

## About the role

### Responsibilities
– **Employment law guidance** — Functions as in‑house subject matter expert, providing guidance on employment laws and regulations and advising on employee relations issues such as harassment claims, discrimination, disability accommodations, medical leaves, wage and hour issues, and terminations.
– **Agreement drafting** — Drafts and revises employment‑related agreements, templates, policies, and procedures, including restrictive covenant agreements, consulting agreements, severance agreements, and handbooks.
– **Litigation management** — Oversees and manages (independently or with outside counsel) all aspects of employment counseling, litigation, administrative charges, and threats of claims.
– **Internal investigations** — Conducts and supervises internal investigations, including document/factual collection and analysis, and conducting witness interviews.
– **Complex legal matters** — Independently and proactively monitors and provides guidance on novel or complex employment law matters.
– **HR partnerships** — Builds partnerships with all levels of Human Resources (including Labor subject matter experts) to provide oversight, consistency, and legal guidance.
– **Risk evaluation** — Analyzes data and trends to develop and implement strategies and tactics for risk evaluation and avoidance.
– **Budget oversight** — Assists Bally’s legal department with setting a budget for and managing all legal expenditures for outside counsel.
– **Cross‑functional collaboration** — Works cross‑functionally with teams to mitigate employment‑related risk and ensure compliance with regulatory obligations.
– **Strategic advising** — Advises in‑house attorneys and company management on strategy and resolution of employment and labor matters.
– **Outside counsel coordination** — Collaborates with outside counsel to efficiently manage all aspects of assigned matters, including staffing, counseling and litigation strategy, budgets, work product, discovery, and initiatives for reducing outside counsel spend.
– **Executive reporting** — Coordinates with the SVP and General Counsel on periodic reporting of employment litigation results, budgets, forecasts, exposure analysis, and litigation strategies, as well as evaluating expenses and reserves with the company’s independent auditors, risk managers, and business unit leaders.
– **Other duties as assigned by management**

## Target Salary Range
– **$170,000 Annual Salary**
– **Bonus eligible up to 10% of base compensation**

## Role requirements
– **RI Operations Lottery License**
– **A JD from an accredited law school** and licensed to practice law in the relevant jurisdictions
– **5–7 years of progressively responsible legal experience** in employment counseling and litigation as part of an in‑house team or law firm
