About Us
Canopy Management Group is an accredited Association Management Company (AMC) based in Springfield, MA. We partner with associations, nonprofits, professional societies, and member organizations to provide customized operational and strategic support that helps
industries and communities thrive.
Our work is relationship-driven, collaborative, and intentionally personalized. We support organizations across a wide range of industries by helping strengthen member engagement, leadership development, education, events, communications, and operations.
At Canopy, we believe strong communities create stronger organizations and industries. We build long-term partnerships with the clients we serve and work closely with leadership, volunteers, and members to create meaningful impact.
We’re a collaborative team that values curiosity, accountability, quality, continuous growth, and community-building. Every team member contributes to the relationships and support structures that help our clients succeed.
What You’ll Do as Industry Affairs Manager
In this role, you will lead several initiatives — not just a small piece. We are looking for someone excited about helping drive multi-faceted initiatives forward, collaborating with a strong team, and seeing the impact of their work. You will support multiple
projects for various member-driven organizations concurrently, allowing you to work on various exciting and diverse projects at a given time. Experience and passion in packaging, forestry, paper, manufacturing, and/or sustainability will be helpful. While
this is not a lobbying position, lobbying or public policy experience may help support your success.
You’ll work with our team to manage client accounts, including working directly with key stakeholders, developing quarterly work plans, communicating tasks and projects with the team, and often acting as direct association staff. You’ll be willing, eager, and
comfortable to liaise with internal and external partners, including team members, clients, board members, affiliated associations, vendors, and community partners. You’ll be comfortable leading Board, client, and internal staff meetings and motivated to serve
in a variety of industries.
Who Is The Perfect Candidate for This Role?
The ideal candidate is a relationship-driven professional who thrives at the intersection of industry leadership, stakeholder engagement, and strategic project management. You enjoy bringing people together around common goals, building consensus among diverse
viewpoints, and serving as a trusted advisor to boards, committees, and industry leaders. Naturally curious and highly organized, you stay informed on emerging trends, policy developments, and sustainability initiatives, and can translate complex information
into practical insights and actionable recommendations.
You are equally comfortable leading meetings, presenting to industry audiences, managing multiple priorities, and developing thoughtful written communications. Whether working with volunteer leaders, member companies, policymakers, or internal team members,
you bring professionalism, sound judgment, and a collaborative approach. The strongest candidates will have experience in association management, public policy, government relations, or industry advocacy, along with a genuine interest in supporting industries
such as manufacturing, packaging, sustainability, or related sectors.
