Social media remains one of the best ways to mobilize advocates and shape narratives, but the landscape is changing fast. This session will help you refine your strategy, create content that stands out and build digital communities that strengthen your advocacy goals.

You’ll learn how to:

    • Navigate new platform features and engagement tools across major social channels
    • Develop a social media strategy that aligns with your organization’s advocacy priorities
    • Craft authentic, platform-specific content that connects with diverse audiences

1:30 p.m.

What’s Actually Working Now?

Platform updates and algorithm changes are constant, but not every new feature deserves your organization’s time or attention. Speakers will share how they are responding to changes across the major social platforms, the results they are seeing and where they believe advocacy organizations should focus next.

The discussion will explore:

  • Which platform changes and audience behaviors are having the greatest impact on advocacy content
  • What practitioners are testing and how they decide where to invest
  • Where AI-assisted content, paid reach and emerging tools strengthen engagement and where they can undermine trust

Creating Social Content that Connects

Strong social media content starts with strategic choices: who you need to reach, what you want them to understand or do and why they should care. In this interactive session, experienced practitioners will work through real-world advocacy examples and demonstrate how to adapt the same core message for different platforms, audiences and goals.

You will learn:

  • How to turn an advocacy priority into platform-specific content for LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and other relevant channels
  • How practitioners make decisions about format, tone, visuals and calls to action in real time
  • How to evaluate what is likely to resonate, strengthen engagement and support your broader advocacy strategy
