Consumers, Not Companies, Have the Power

Who has the most power to improve our lives? According to the 2017 Ford Trend Report, which surveyed more than 8,000 people in the U.S., U.K., China, Brazil, India, Spain, Germany and Canada, 47 percent of respondents said “individual consumers.”

Government came in second with 28 percent. Companies came in third, at 17 percent.

Sixty-nine percent agree with this statement: “I believe boycotting a brand can change corporate behavior for the better.”

And just over half of Americans (51 percent) said companies “are responsible for improving the lives of their customers.”

The report marks the fifth year Ford Motor Co. has conducted its trends report.
