### AI Policy Lead–Government Relations

As Scale continues to build and develop its Government Relations function, we are looking for an AI Policy Lead to support our engagements with Government Agencies, Industry Trade Associations, and Standards Development Organizations.

The successful candidate will have a history of successfully driving successful Policy and Regulatory outcomes, and the ability to connect business objectives to policy wins.

#### Responsibilities:

– Lead Scale’s policy engagement with select federal agencies.
– Lead and support engagements with standards development organizations and industry trade associations on behalf of the Company.
– Work to understand business objectives related to portfolio and translate them into Policy wins.
– Assist in the formation of Scale’s government relations strategy and priorities.
– Lead the formation of Scale’s regulatory comments.
– Advise and brief Scale Leadership on policies impacting artificial intelligence policy.
– Build relationships with relevant stakeholders.
– Monitor policy and regulatory changes for potential impact to Scale’s business.

#### Required Skills and Qualifications:

– Between 4-6 years of experience in Regulatory Affairs or working in the Government.
– Experience successfully securing consensus for priorities at trade associations, and standards bodies.
– Experience leading company response to Rulemakings, Request for Comments, etc.
– Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
– Previous technical experience such as publishing research/peer-reviewed papers, covering technology policy as an issue area within the Government, working at a technical Government Agency within the Executive Branch, or experience in the technology sector.
– A history of managing multiple work streams simultaneously.

– History working within a startup environment or tech company.

Compensation packages at Scale for eligible roles include base salary, equity, and benefits. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position, determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, interview performance, and relevant education or training. Scale employees in eligible roles are also granted equity-based compensation, subject to Board of Director approval. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process, and confirm whether the hired role will be eligible for an equity grant. You’ll also receive benefits including, but not limited to: Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage, retirement benefits, a learning and development stipend, and generous PTO. Additionally, this role may be eligible for additional benefits such as a commuter stipend.

The base salary range for this full-time position in the location of Washington DC is:

$169,200 – $203,040 USD
