## About Position

Whistleblower Aid is seeking a motivated associate counsel to support our expanding casework. This role will support a small legal team with core activities including drafting legal disclosures, managing cases and clients, legal research, and case management. The associate role will also support case communications and advocacy work as well as organizational legal needs. Whistleblower Aid’s work is highly sensitive and this position requires absolute discretion and professionalism.

This is a full‑time, at‑will employee position. This role is hybrid, serving our office in Washington, DC, with a minimum of two days in office per week.

## Responsibilities

– **Drafting and editing** legal documents including correspondence, disclosures, affidavits, and other filings
– **Researching legal sources** such as statutes, legislation, regulations, case law, and other materials, and preparing written analysis
– **Developing client relationships** including preparing evidence, declarations, and other materials with clients
– **Reviewing evidence** and case documentation and preparing written analysis, chronologies, summaries, and digests
– **Managing client case files** including in e‑discovery programs as needed
– **Designing advocacy strategy** and communications in service of cases and clients
– **Supporting organizational needs** including producing contracts, legal risk assessments, thought leadership, and other projects
– **Other duties** as assigned

## Job Requirements

– **3+ years of legal experience**
– **J.D. and at least one state bar membership**
– **Excellent legal research and writing skills**
– **Strong written and verbal communication skills**
– **Ability to multitask**, take initiative, work independently, and meet deadlines in a dynamic, fast‑paced small team environment
– **Excellent interpersonal skills** including client relationship building and empathy
– **Strong organizational skills** with high attention to detail
– **Advanced analytical skills** including issue spotting and problem solving
– **Competency with legal citation** (i.e., Bluebook)
– **Ability to maintain confidentiality**, trust, and exercise discretion
– **Mission‑driven mindset** with interest in justice, resilient democracy, and corporate accountability
– **Experience with DOJ or oversight entities** (DOJ, OIG, agency general counsel’s office, federal investigative or civil enforcement authority, or congressional investigations) a plus

Whistleblower Aid provides pro bono legal, advocacy, and communications support to government and private‑sector whistleblowers acting in the public interest. The organization’s lawyers have represented some of the most consequential national security and Big Tech whistleblowers in history, including Facebook whistleblower Frances Haugen, the anonymous intelligence community whistleblower whose disclosures led to the first impeachment of President Trump, and others.
