The AANS/CNS Washington Committee
The AANS/CNS Washington Committee serves as the federal advocacy arm of organized neurosurgery, representing the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS) and the Congress of Neurological Surgeons (CNS) before Congress, federal agencies, and national coalitions. The Washington Committee advances policies that support neurosurgeons, their patients, and the broader health care system.
Associate, Political Programs & Operations
The Associate, Political Programs & Operations plays a key role in supporting the AANS’ Political Action Committee (PAC) and the day-to-day operations of the Washington office. This position works closely with PAC leadership, staff, and the PAC’s outside consultant, AMP, to support fundraising initiatives, donor engagement, reporting, and related program activities. Formal compliance with FEC rules and reporting requirements is overseen in coordination with AANS headquarters.
In addition to PAC-related responsibilities, the role helps manage office operations, website maintenance, and meeting logistics. Limited travel may be required to support conferences, meetings, and events. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced advocacy environment.
