Greenlight Action engages and mobilizes local residents in support of clean energy projects. ### Position Overview
The Communications Manager plays a central role in Greenlight’s communications and campaign work, with an important voice in shaping the strategic direction of Greenlight’s communications, messaging, and content production strategy on the campaigns to which they are assigned. A successful candidate for this position will be a skilled writer with the demonstrated capacity to produce quality work on deadline. They will also have the ability to get up to speed quickly on complex topics, be highly creative and willing to take risks, and exhibit strong skills in project management. The position is remote and reports to the Chief Communications Officer.
### Primary Roles and Responsibilities
– Produce content in support of clean energy siting campaigns, including but not limited to: talking points, fact sheets, letters to the editors, op-eds, digital content, social media posts, one-pagers, and presentations.
– Serve as the primary digital/comms campaigner on assigned campaigns, working hand-in-hand with the regional campaign managers to set and execute campaign comms strategy.
– Assess and understand the latest messaging research with regards to clean energy siting and make sure all content produced includes up-to-date best messaging practices in a fast-evolving sector.
– Support and help develop Greenlight’s organizational messaging and branding strategy with relevant stakeholders, including funders, partners, volunteers, and the press.
### Experience and Qualifications
We are especially interested in candidates with the following qualifications:
– 3+ years of experience developing content and/or messaging on deadline. Strong candidates for this role may also have backgrounds in community organizing, campaigning, or similar.
– Strong research and written communications skills. Journalism experience is a plus.
– Experience with digital campaign tools such as EveryAction, Mobilize, etc.
– Candidates in the Eastern or Central time zones strongly preferred.
– Passion for accelerating the clean energy transition.
### Compensation and Benefits
The base annual salary for this position is $75,000-$100,000. We offer an excellent benefits package which includes 100% employer paid premiums for medical, dental, and vision insurance, unlimited paid time off, monthly technology stipend, and retirement contributions through 401k and Roth plans.
