Job Summary

Artemis is seeking a Communications Portfolio Manager that will oversee a portfolio of projects and business development activities. The candidate will have extensive experience supporting federal clients; comprehensive program management and strategic communications expertise; and demonstrated supervisory and management skills. This individual must be able to communicate effectively with both clients and team members to understand requirements and provide recommendations that have a direct impact on the program or mission. Additionally, this individual must be able to become a trusted advisor, fostering relationships with potential clients to understand priorities and pain points that inform upcoming business development efforts.

 

The Communications Portfolio Manager requires a self-starter, proactive problem solver and action-oriented team player with previous experience in management consulting and business development pursuits. This position needs an individual that is committed to providing superior service, poised under pressure and has a positive and flexible attitude.

 

This position is remote but may require occasional trips to the DC Metro Area or specific client sites maybe required.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage and direct a portfolio of projects, working closely with project managers to ensure successful client delivery, contractual compliance and contract growth
  • Assist with the implementation of Jira to improve project management and visibility of tasks across projects and business line
  • Facilitate regular check-in meetings with clients to solicit feedback, document performance and identify focus areas for enhancement or improvement
  • Provide project quality assurance and deliverable reviews to help ensure conformance to defined project requirements
  • Provide team members with recommendations on communication and project management strategies to ensure quality and performance
  • Oversee development of communications engagement strategies and implement strategic marketing tactics in support of campaigns, programs and events
  • Assist project teams with conducting measurement activities to evaluate the effectiveness of communications efforts towards achieving intended outcomes
  • Build and foster relationships with federal partners and internal team members
  • Perform business development and capture activities in alignment with the strategic communications and marketing portfolio
  • Lead business development activities that expand Artemis’ portfolio across federal agencies
  • Remain up to date on industry trends and innovative ways to deliver solutions

Minimum Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience with planning, developing, executing and assessing comprehensive strategic communications, marketing and advertising campaigns
  • 5+ years of experience with federal government program and project management
  • Experience working across specialties (e.g., technology, health, digital) to provide better and innovative solutions to clients
  • Strong marketing and communications expertise, leadership skills and aptitude to make informed decisions and recommendations
  • Experience overseeing multiple contracts and supporting several different clients simultaneously
  • Exceptional written, oral, listening and presentation skills
  • Ability to productively collaborate with a wide range of personality types while meeting assignment demands
  • Confidence and poise to work closely with senior executives
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • PMP certification is strongly preferred
  • Legal Authorization to work in the U.S

  • Ability to coordinate with a project team, interact with senior-level executives and represent the client among internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to get up to speed quickly on complex issues; desire to work in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment
  • Detail-oriented, analytical multitasker; capable self-starter with a drive to get all types of work done
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to coordinate and direct personnel, lead teams and work independently with minimal guidance or supervision
  • Ability to adapt to various people and working styles under tight deadlines
  • Master’s degree in a related field plus
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain the rationale behind creative ideas to both clients and internal teams
  • Deep knowledge of industry best practices, strong digital & traditional background and the ability to quickly identify, address and incorporate emerging trends into campaign development
