## WHO WE ARE

ACB Ideas is an organization striving to stimulate cultural renewal by creating a movement of leaders and ordinary people who pursue happiness based on the work of Dr. Arthur C. Brooks.

Our mission is to lift people up and bring them together in the spirit of happiness and love with our work, using the highest‑caliber research on human well‑being.

Led by forward‑thinking leadership and our commitment to happiness, our staff have diverse opportunities to develop their passion and careers in a challenging and rewarding environment.

## SUMMARY OF OPPORTUNITY

ACB Ideas reaches millions of people each week with ideas rooted in the science of happiness, meaning, and human flourishing. We’re looking for a content producer who can absorb those ideas — and translate them into work that moves an audience: people who subscribe to the newsletter, sign up for the membership, share a post with a friend, buy a book.

This is a content marketing role. You’ll sit at the intersection of strategy and craft — thinking about what a piece of content is supposed to do, who it’s for, where it lives, and then making it. You’re fluent with the production tools, but more importantly you can take the leap from a classroom lecture, a column, or a chapter of a book into an impromptu video and 25‑second hook that turns a stranger into a fan and a follower into a buyer.

We need someone who can take a big idea, identify what’s emotionally alive inside it, and decide how it should show up across each channel — short‑form video, static social, web modules, lead magnets, newsletter — with a clear point of view on what each format is doing for our audience and our business.

You’ll work closely with senior content and marketing leads. The right person treats this as a craft worth getting great at — and as a chance to help millions of people live happier, more meaningful lives.

This is an office‑based position in the Washington, DC area. Office located in Tysons Corner, VA.

As a member of team ACB, you will receive excellent benefits, opportunities to grow within your role and the organization, and collaborative and supportive colleagues who bring happiness to the world.

## WHAT YOU’LL DO

– **Internalize core content** — Arthur Brooks’ body of work, our content pillars, and our marketing funnel deeply enough to think in the brand’s voice and identify multiple content angles for any idea.
– **Plan ad hoc content capture** — assess unexpected opportunities (green room moments, breaking news, viral trends) and determine format, value, and execution needs.
– **Conceptualize content** — transform long‑form talks, articles, podcasts, or chapters into Reels, TikToks, carousels, landing pages, or newsletter features with clear marketing intent.
– **Produce across formats** — edit short‑form video (Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts) with strong instincts for hooks, pacing, and captions; design static social posts and lightweight web/email graphics.
– **Recycle and remix assets** — convert talks, articles, podcasts, books, and columns into fresh assets aligned with marketing goals.
– **Shape weekly content planning** — bring concepts, references, formats, and trends tied to weekly objectives.
– **Track performance** — engagement, saves, shares, watch time, click‑throughs, conversion — and use insights to refine ideas.
– **Support broader marketing operations** — reporting, web updates, asset organization, and other tasks that keep the marketing engine running.

## SKILLS AND MINDSETS

– **A marketer’s instinct** — understanding audience, purpose, and funnel goals (newsletter sign‑ups, membership conversion, awareness).
– **Concept‑to‑execution thinking** — ability to turn raw ideas into content quickly and creatively.
– **Editorial and visual eye** — strong POV on copy, hooks, captions, headlines, and design fundamentals (typography, layout, hierarchy).
– **Digital native intuition** — instinctively understanding platform behavior and content performance.
– **Fluency in brand** — ability to produce on‑brand work without detailed instructions.
– **Production tool fluency** — CapCut, Premiere, DaVinci, Figma, Canva, Photoshop.
– **Self‑directed speed** — ability to ship drafts quickly and iterate without ego.
– **Interest in ideas** — happiness, meaning, behavioral science, leadership, faith; bonus if familiar with Arthur Brooks’ work.

## WHAT WE’D LIKE TO SEE

– **Experience growing accounts** — especially personal or ideas‑based accounts with a content marketing lens.
– **Email platform familiarity** — Kit, Mailchimp, ConvertKit; plus basic CMS or web tools.
– **Analytics comfort** — using data to inform creative decisions.
– **A portfolio or reel** — showing taste, judgment, and conceptual thinking.

## HOW TO APPLY

Submit a cover letter about why the role interests you, your resume, plus 2–3 examples of content you’ve made (any format, any platform — what matters is your taste and your thinking, not polish or scale).

If you’ve ever taken a long‑form idea — a book, a talk, an article — and turned it into something native to social, they especially want to see that.
