**Major League Baseball Business & Technology Legal Team**

The Major League Baseball **Business & Technology Legal team** oversees legal aspects of MLB’s domestic and international commercial activities, including licensing, products, national events (World Series, All-Star Game), marketing, advertising, sponsorship, ticketing, video and mobile games, gaming, technology infrastructure, software licensing, consumer protection, data privacy, and information security.

## **Responsibilities**

– **Commercial Agreements** — Negotiate and structure commercial agreements based on the needs of MLB’s business and operational units (information security, technology, product, business development, events, ticketing, e‑commerce, content, social media, marketing, advertising and sponsorship, licensing, human resources, public relations, finance).
– **Club Communications** — Communicate regularly with MLB clubs regarding league agreements related to business operations and technology.
– **In‑House Legal Services** — Provide general in‑house legal services and advise MLB’s business and operational units.
– **Outside Counsel Oversight** — Provide oversight, strategy, and direction to outside counsel.

## **Qualifications & Skills**

– Member of New York State Bar in good standing
– Top academic credentials and references
– Minimum of four (4) years as a practicing lawyer, preferably with several years’ experience in a well‑regarded law firm
– Significant transactional experience negotiating and structuring major licensing and other commercial agreements; experience with technology, information security, and/or consumer data privacy strongly preferred
– Excellent communication skills; strong ability to build and maintain relationships
– Must work effectively in a fast‑paced environment, interacting regularly with senior management
– Must be able to simultaneously accomplish multiple quantitatively and qualitatively challenging tasks

**Salary Range:** $180,000 – $200,000 (Base Salary) + Bonus

As a candidate for this position, your salary and related aspects of compensation will depend on your work experience, education, skills, and other factors MLB considers relevant. MLB provides a competitive compensation and benefits package for its employees.
