Job Description:
TD’s Corporate and Public Affairs (CAPA) team is comprised of a talented group of communicators, broken into teams based on areas of focus: Business Communications, Corporate & Executive Communications, Content & Digital, Corporate Reputation, and Government Relations. This role will provide art direction and design support to the Office of the CEO as well as the CFO, CMO, Head of HR, General Counsel, COO, CRO, and more.

The Creative Services Art Director reviews all work produced by Creative Services Graphic Designers to ensure quality, accuracy, and adherence to brand standards. Consults and strategizes with the Senior Creative Services Manager and MarCom Project Leads to achieve project goals and brand adherence with designs produced within Creative Services. In addition, the Creative Services Art Director works as part of the Creative Services team, creating designs that are conceptually and visually compelling, supportive of project objectives, and representative of brand standards, positioning, and character.

Depth & Scope:

Provides fast, efficient, and diplomatic art direction to Creative Services graphic designers reflective of our brand standards and guidelines.

Consults with Senior Creative Services Manager and MarCom Project Managers to clarify and discuss requests and resolve problems arising from client preferences, project objectives, production requirements, and budgetary/time limitations.

Participates in creative strategy and execution for large projects.

Works as part of the Creative Services Team, managing design projects from start to finish.

Works efficiently and effectively to provide timely art direction, helping to keep projects on track and meet deadlines necessary to achieve business line goals.

Successfully completes all required online training and follows all department procedures resulting in effective compliance for all job-relevant State and Federal regulations including, but not limited to, employee policies, procedures, CRA EEO/AA, as well as all job-relevant Risk Management and Corporate standards.

Ensures effective compliance with all job-related State and Federal regulations, including, but not limited to, employee policies, procedures, CRA EEO/AA, as well as all job-relevant Risk Management and corporate standards. Ensures TD Bank maintains successful audits and exams within all areas.

Understands cost implications of various production techniques, color types/quantity, and design elements and is mindful of creating solutions that fit within budgetary constraints and represent the best use of company resources.

Understands the TD Bank, Americas Most Convenient Bank brand and comprehends the importance of consistent brand personality across multiple communication channels; provides art direction to Creative Services graphic designers reflective of TD’s US brand standards & character.

Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree or progressive work experience in addition to experience below.

7+ years of related experience.

Solid understanding of branding and brand consistency across multiple communication channels.

Management experience preferred.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking.

Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, QuarkXpress, and Microsoft Office on both Mac and PC platforms.

Conceptual design skills with the ability to devise creative solutions in a wide variety of situations.

Demonstrates ability to conceptualize and implement design projects to support business goals.

Ability to learn and retain new concepts and techniques.

Proven experience managing complex, multi-component visual communications projects.

Strong time management, organization, and communication skills.

Highly organized, able to multi-task successfully, detail-oriented, and able to work under tight deadlines quickly and patiently.

Ability to participate in jobs currently in progress, as well as produce concepts from start to finish.
