Summary
UnidosUS is seeking a Deputy Vice President, Learning & Impact to lead a new unit charged with the development and implementation of a comprehensive learning and impact measurement strategy, aligned with UnidosUS’s newly identified strategic vision.
UnidosUS recently completed an organization-wide strategic planning process that affirmed our commitment to civil rights, social justice, and economic and social opportunity. The Deputy Vice President will play a key role in closing critical inequities for Latino populations by:
- Changing systems through policy, practice, and resource shifts to close economic and social inequities for Latinos.
- Building Latino power to influence and hold systems accountable through leadership and decision-making.
This new role will develop an approach to monitoring and evaluation, ensuring that the board, leadership, and stakeholders fully understand UnidosUS’s impact on Latino communities. The position is hybrid, based in Washington, DC, or New York, NY, with a salary range of $175,000 – $200,000.
Essential Functions
Learning & Impact Measurement Strategy
- Collaborate with the Senior Vice President, Programs, to lead the development of a comprehensive strategy aligned with UnidosUS’s strategic vision.
- Create frameworks for learning and impact measurement across core issues: Economic Empowerment, Education, Health, and Workforce Development.
- Work with Programs components to embed impact measurement, develop goals, and performance measures aligned with the organizational vision.
- Foster a collaborative learning culture with room for discourse and reflection.
- Stay informed of trends and apply emerging approaches to the organization’s practices.
- Cultivate a network of experts to expand UnidosUS’s capacity for learning and impact at a systems level.
Knowledge Management & Sharing
- Work with the Principal for Digital Services to develop systems for managing and sharing knowledge across core issue areas.
- Develop processes that promote shared learning, reflection, and knowledge management.
- Review program impacts and use findings to assess the achieved and potential expanded impacts.
- Collaborate with leaders of various teams to integrate cross-program activities and produce insights for UnidosUS leadership and stakeholders.
- Develop mechanisms to share learning and impact with key stakeholders, including the UnidosUS Board, Affiliates, funders, and government officials.
- Contribute to thought leadership content that elevates UnidosUS’s profile.
Team Leadership and Development
- Lead a new Learning & Impact unit, providing supervision and coaching to direct reports.
- Partner with other team leaders to ensure accurate and routine data collection.
- Train staff on learning and impact systems and support implementation of operating procedures.
- Build partnerships with external evaluators and research institutions.
- Cultivate an organization-wide culture of learning and impact.
- Centralize information about various evaluators used at UnidosUS.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, community development, public policy, or evaluation.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in strategy/program development, impact measurement, or evaluation.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience leading a learning and impact measurement unit.
- Experience leading teams, setting and achieving goals, and providing feedback.
- Proficiency in data analysis, evaluation methods, and using evaluation frameworks.
- Experience with learning and impact tools across various disciplines.
- Proficiency with CRMs like Quickbase or Salesforce and statistical analysis software like SPSS, SAS, or R.
- Familiarity with survey platforms such as Alchemer, SurveyMonkey, or Qualtrics.
- Commitment to addressing equity issues impacting Latinos.
- Experience working with diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Desired Qualifications
- Advanced degree in social sciences, community development, or related field.
- Experience working with community-based organizations or national nonprofits.
- Familiarity with the U.S. Latino community and nonprofits.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
