Digital Media Manager

Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget
Washington, DC

The Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget is a nonpartisan, non-profit organization committed to educating the public on issues with significant fiscal policy impact. Our bipartisan leadership comprises some of the nation’s leading budget experts, including many past heads of the House and Senate Budget Committees, the Congressional Budget Office, the Office of Management and Budget, the Government Accountability Office, and the Federal Reserve Board.

This is not your typical think tank social media role. The Digital Media Manager is expected to be a very active participant in a fast-moving policy-driven environment. This position will lead and expand our digital communications and ensure social media is fully integrated across the organization. Responsibilities include creating and curating shareable content; building and managing a social media strategy; updating content across digital platforms; analyzing the performance of social media campaigns; and maintaining brand consistency.

The Digital Media Manager will work closely with the Committee’s communications, policy, and engagement teams and report to the Deputy Chief of Staff.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of the organization’s digital communications strategy
  • Design and update content for organizational and project websites
  • Advise the organization on the best use of social media and ensure a social media strategy is integrated into all communications efforts
  • Set benchmarks and provide performance data to inform organization-wide decision-making and ensure targets are met
  • Monitor the stakeholder landscape and respond to market changes and developments
  • Ensure our website and digital engagement tools are user-friendly, easy to understand and navigate
  • Negotiate and manage contracts with communications firms and developers as needed
  • Continuously propose and implement recommendations to improve the performance of our digital touchpoints — this includes ad spend, user experience, ad creative/copy, keyword targets, landing pages, webpages, etc.

Qualifications

  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of social media (Twitter and Facebook) trends, analytics and scheduling tools
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills — able to establish and implement systems and identify resources to ensure successful completion of projects
  • Knowledge and experience using tools such as Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Canva is required
  • A team player who is able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience editing, formatting, and creating website content, with an attention to detail
  • Outstanding communication skills, comfortable presenting data
  • A minimum of four years relevant experience with a proven track record
  • Experience with a policy organization or on Capitol Hill is a plus
  • Rapid response experience is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree required
