Summary
Build and nurture inter-organization and key corporate relationships to drive and increase the value of AMPP to asset owners, government agencies connected with asset owners, and additional strategic member segments. This will meet and evolve AMPP’s mission by identifying and executing high-value leadership opportunities, building partnerships with like-minded organizations, promoting relevant AMPP programs, and identifying new, high-value programs/products.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Execute Corporate Outreach Strategy to build relationships and engage corporate leaders to articulate their vision and requirements, enhancing their organization’s value as it relates to AMPP.
- Strategize with organizational partners, such as like-minded associations, to explore new opportunities and develop future roadmaps for impactful collaboration.
- Engage businesses and other associations to coordinate efforts to identify, voice, and act upon AMPP positions and issues.
- Collaborate with AMPP Market leaders to enhance AMPP’s visibility to both agencies and asset owners.
- Represent the interests of AMPP businesses with selected regulatory agencies.
- Represent AMPP via presentations that increase AMPP’s visibility and value to asset owners, agencies, and other strategic groups.
- Energize AMPP’s grassroots membership to participate in strategic advocacy efforts, collaborating with Government Relations and Public Relations staff.
- Implement a global grassroots strategy to identify, mobilize, and empower grassroots advocates utilizing Grassroot Ambassadors.
- Represent AMPP with press/media to promote AMPP’s positions on issues affecting asset owners and other businesses.
- Use information gleaned from corporate and agency relationships to guide staff/committee awareness and understanding of new AMPP programs, enhancing credibility, visibility, and the value of AMPP services.
- Develop and execute, in collaboration with the Public Relations Department, strategic and tactical public relations programs to increase AMPP’s visibility to agencies and asset owners.
- Collaborate with senior management and volunteers to prospect for new business opportunities.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Carry out supervisory duties in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws. This includes interviewing, hiring, and training employees, planning and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, and resolving conflicts.

Some travel is required, and a passport is necessary.
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in public relations, public policy, communications, media, marketing, journalism, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience utilizing strategic influencing skills with corporate members in an association setting.
Language Skills
Advanced relationship development and management skills are required, including the ability to convey goals and messaging, present personable presentations, and maintain relationships with media sources. Candidates must also be able to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations. The ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals, as well as effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, members, employees, and the general public, is essential.
Mathematical Skills
Candidates must be able to calculate figures such as discounts, interest, and commissions. The ability to apply concepts like fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations, as well as interpret business graphs, is required.
Reasoning Ability
Candidates must be able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where limited standardization exists. The ability to interpret various instructions in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form is also necessary.
Other Skills and Abilities
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong personnel management abilities, including the ability to evaluate staff performance and provide direction.
- Ability to work efficiently in a multi-task environment, considering external factors, while communicating effectively with both supervisors and subordinates.
- Proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet software is required. Experience with association-specific software is highly desirable.
