Salary Range:
$175,000.00 To $180,000.00 Annually

AHCA/NCAL is seeking a Director of Political Affairs to improve lives by delivering solutions for quality care by managing the Association’s political action committee (PAC). Responsible for the growth of a vigorous corporate money account and associated political programs. This role also participates in creating initiatives at the federal level to advocate for policies favorable to the long-term care community.

Qualifications & Skills:

B.A. plus minimum of 5 years’ related government affairs experience, preferably in a health and public policy-related field. Exceptional written and oral communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external audiences. Knowledge of, and extensive experience with the legislative and regulatory process. Significant experience in political fundraising and a complete understanding of the legal requirements of federal fundraising.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Develop relationships with members of Congress, their senior staff, key executive branch officials, state legislators and/or government relations representatives from other groups that foster access to the policymaking process and the understanding of complex issues.
Routinely communicates to the membership on activities of the department and developments on Capitol Hill.
Prepare both the PAC disbursement budget for approval and actively engages is direct candidate outreach and events
In conjunction with the Senior VP, Policy and Government Relations, develops a fundraising program which meets PAC goals and contributes to overall advocacy program by involving the PAIC Board, State Executives, Association Membership and other members of the GR team.
Serve as a PAC contact and information source for lobbyists and other staff.
Maintains strong relationships with donors at every level and coordinates giving plans that align with association goals.
Active in the DC political community raising awareness and seeking opportunities to strategically advance AHCA’s mission to deliver solutions for quality care.
