About The Role
As a Director in our Healthcare & Life Sciences sector, you will take an active role in promoting the day-to-day management of client accounts. This person will align with both the Healthcare and Life Sciences sector, as well as our Public Affairs team. FTI Consulting’s Public Affairs brings together policy, politics, and business and are looking for someone who enjoys health policy debates.

As a successful Director, you will be responsible for managing both up and down within account teams to appropriately service client communications programs. You will interact with and provide communications at client companies; develop and execute communications strategies to deliver results and meet client expectations; draft documents for client use (including communications plans, strategy memos, press releases, interview preparation memos, etc.); provide perspective to clients on internal, peer, and market developments as such pertains to the media and marketplace; regularly plan for media interaction and converse with the media and investment communities. What You’ll Do
The Director manages account teams and projects, leveraging in-depth knowledge of clients’ objectives and challenges to oversee the design and execution of innovative communications, research and engagement strategies and tactics. Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to, the following:

Develop strategic proposals, communications plans, research, analysis and other work product for clients and new business prospects

Serve as a primary client contact, providing strategic counsel directly to clients in meetings, conference calls and while working on client sites

Oversee project management and document development to ensure deadlines are met and objectives are achieved

Anticipate client needs and concerns and work proactively with colleagues to address them

Drive new business pursuits, including the development of thought leadership, identification of business prospects and ongoing networking on behalf of the firm

Support team training and professional development and serve as a performance manager to junior staff

What You Will Need To Succeed
Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, English or related business field

5+ years of relevant post-graduate professional experience

Experience in the Healthcare & Life Sciences sector is essential

Ability to travel to clients and FTI office(s) as needed

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis, the employer will not sponsor applicants for work visas

Preferred Qualifications

Excellent writing skills

Strong time and priority management skills and an ability to juggle multiple client accounts

Ability to convey information effectively and accurately, verbally or in writing

Computer proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel and Word
