### Position Overview
The U.S. Chamber Technology Engagement Center (C_TEC) seeks a policy director to help develop the Chamber’s policy and advocacy around data privacy and state and local technology issues.
### WHAT YOU’LL DO (Responsibilities)
– Advise the senior vice president of C_TEC on technology policy matters.
– Lead C_TEC’s data privacy efforts.
– Oversee C_TEC’s state and local policy outreach by coordinating with C_TEC policy experts and engaging with relevant state and local policymakers and partners.
– Engage with Capitol Hill and regulatory agency staff.
– Prepare speeches, background materials, and other communications such as blog posts.
– Monitor local, state, and federal legislative activity.
### WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED (Requirements)
– Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience.
– A passion for emerging technology and promoting private sector-led solutions.
– Extensive knowledge of data privacy and the ability to work on a variety of issues, such as artificial intelligence, IT modernization, and communication policy.
– Experience working with Democrats and Republicans.
– Experience managing and building coalitions.
– Knowledge of state and federal legislative and regulatory processes.
– Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
– Ability to work effectively at all levels of the organization and with government officials, preferably with agencies like the FTC, NTIA, and OSTP.
– Strong sense of professionalism and sound judgment.
– Ability to juggle multiple tasks while providing high-quality work with enthusiasm and a positive attitude.
– Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
– CIPP/US certification preferred.
The salary range for this position is $114,125.00 to $140,000.00. The actual salary paid for this position will vary based on market data, an applicant’s qualifications, relevant degrees, certifications, and other factors. Our full-time employees are eligible for benefits, including health care, vision, dental, retirement, and paid leave.
