This is a rare opportunity to join HPE’s world-class Global Communications team. With more than 100 communicators across the globe, we advocate for HPE’s corporate strategy, business innovation, and thought leadership. We’re looking for a proactive, creative individual who has a passion for executive communications and penchant for fomenting new and ongoing relationships with key stakeholders.

Responsibilities

 

In this role, you will report to the Director of CEO Communications in support the Office of the CEO, primarily helping execute a strategic CEO communications program, including driving core narrative, messaging, and thought leadership platforms through speaking opportunities and other internal and external stakeholder content and programing.

  • Assist in execution of the end-to-end CEO communications plan, including narrative, messaging, and thought leadership platforms
  • Identify and prepare CEO for internal and external communications activities that advance strategic priorities; vet inbound requests and partner with cross-functional stakeholders to manage all preparation and execution
  • Help write and edit compelling and persuasive communications, including narratives/ POVs, scripts, talking points, social media posts, blog posts, email messages, and briefing documents
  • Partner with the Director of CEO Communications on social media strategy, planning, and content development in partnership with the digital communications and brand social media teams
  • Refine infrastructure to manage and efficiently scale CEO communications program, including processes, templates, and tools
  • Manage projects from conception to completion, utilizing organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and simultaneous deadlines
  • Develop methodology and process for establishing regular cadence of executive and board-level reports on communications metrics and program activities
  • Support messaging, implementation and measurement of sustained CEO communications strategies and plans to advance the company’s corporate reputation, drive employee alignment and engagement, and promote executive visibility

 

About you

  • A curious nature, comfortable asking questions, with an instinct to self-initiate action
  • The desire and ability to contribute to strategic communication plans and programs in a collaborative, effective way
  • Comfortable seeing an initiative through from start to finish
  • A willingness to lead on both major and minor points of implementation; confidence in communicating directly with executives, executive offices, and senior stakeholders
  • Superior writing and editing skills, requiring little line editing
  • Keen attention to detail across all communications formats
  • Flexibility to pivot to meet evolving business and communication program needs
  • An interest in developing within a high-performing team and learning about specialties within corporate and financial communication in the technology industry

 

Qualifications

  • BA or BS in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Business, or related field
  • 4+ years of experience in media relations, journalism, or related communication roles
  • Agency experience desirable
  • Ability to utilize as a geographical base our headquarters in Houston, Texas (preferable), or our San Jose, California office

The expected salary/wage range for a U.S.-based hire filling this position is provided below. Actual offer may vary from this range based upon geographic location, work experience, education/training, and/or skill level. If this is a sales role, then the listed salary range reflects combined base salary and target-level sales compensation pay. If this is a non-sales role, then the listed salary range reflects base salary only. Variable incentives may also be offered. Annual Salary: $64,600.00 – $148,500.00
