SUMMARY

The NCBA Executive Director of Strategic Engagement is responsible for fostering political engagement across NCBA’s network of state affiliate organizations, grassroots membership, corporate partners, and allies in Washington, DC. Additionally, this role oversees the NCBA PAC Director and the activities of the NCBA PAC. The Executive Director of Strategic Engagement is responsible for translating the work of the lobby team, PAC, and communications team into actionable work on the ground that benefits NCBA’s policy objectives by driving political contributions, grassroots engagement with Members of Congress, local organizing in support of NCBA priorities, and the amplification of NCBA’s impact across all policy categories.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

An employee in this position may be called upon to do any or all of the following essential functions. These examples do not include all of the functions which the employee may be expected to perform.

Oversee day to day operations of NCBA PAC Director and the NCBA PAC Committee.
Proficient knowledge of Federal Elections Laws, State and local laws, and regulations governing NCBA PAC.
Must have knowledge of the Congressional Committees and the jurisdiction they have over the NCBA’s priority issues.
Participate in developing and executing PAC membership and fundraising strategies.
Coordinate with leadership to establish and achieve PAC membership and fundraising goals.
Builds coalitions with others in the DC community – both PAC and issue focused.
Promotes the NCBA Brand to ensure NCBA is recognized in Washington DC.
Communicate and coordinate all activities with VP of Government Affairs.
Oversee the organization and execution by the NCBA PAC Director of fundraising and political events in Washington, DC, during NCBA meetings, and at state meetings when requested.
Serve as a liaison to NCBA State Affiliates by providing strategies and tools to raise money for NCBA PAC, activate grassroots engagement, amplify NCBA messaging, and drive policy impact.
Attends political conferences, seminars and briefings regarding elections and non-issue-specific events.
Other job duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION – Bachelor’s Degree required. Prefer degrees in political science, business, or agriculture.
EXPERIENCE – 5 years experience with a federal PAC, including fundraising and event planning, preferred. Capitol Hill experience and deep knowledge of politics required.

SKILLS- Extreme attention to detail and excellent organizational skills. Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Someone who maintains a high level of customer service and a friendly demeanor.

Ability to coordinate among teams in different locations. Must be able to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality.
