What we’re looking for:

The position of Government Affairs Advisor will represent and protect Indorama Ventures’ interests in the United States by developing and nurturing relationships with trade associations, government agencies, and all other associated authorities at the local, state, and federal levels.

What will be expected from you?

Enlarged, steady engagement with the company’s stakeholders (e.g., regular attendance at key events and discussions of interest).

Consistent participation in daily agenda to protect the company’s local business continuity (e.g., trade remedies measures, advocacy for public policies of interest).

Enhancement of the company’s competitiveness parameters resulting from public policies (e.g., trade remedies measures, tax incentives, regulators’ decisions).

Easy access to institutional stakeholders.

Approaching, building, and nurturing relationships with the company’s stakeholders (government agencies, trade associations, diplomatic bodies, among others).

Supporting internal teams in assessing the impact of the local public policy scene on the company’s interests and needs, collaborating on the decision-making on how to address risks and opportunities related to it.

Mapping public policy-related opportunities to enhance the competitiveness of the company’s products, services, and projects (e.g., trade remedies measures, tax matters, regulatory affairs), discussing with internal teams their feasibility and convenience, and convening and deploying action plans when appropriate.

Assembling teams and managing processes related to the above situations, when needed.

Representing the company at relevant events (meetings, conferences, etc.) in the geographies of operation (primarily, but not limited to Texas and Washington, DC).

Helping the company to overcome unbalanced market conditions through advocacy and government affairs-driven initiatives.

What are we looking for in the ideal candidate?

A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science, Law, Communications, Economics, or another relevant area (mandatory).

A higher degree in Political Science or another relevant area (desirable).

Proficiency with Internet, Email, and MS Office suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel) (mandatory).

Strong writing and oral communication skills (mandatory).

Government affairs experience in the private sector, trade associations, or in the public sector (e.g., government staff or congressional aide) (mandatory).

Experience with the Federal Election Campaign Act and familiarity with corporate separate segregated funds (SSF/PACs), and analogous State and local campaign contribution laws and regulations (desirable).
