Robinhood is looking to hire an experienced professional to join our team as a Government Affairs Associate, focusing on relationships with state and local policymakers. Reporting to our Manager of Government Affairs, this role will drive state and local advocacy on behalf of Robinhood and advance our priority policy issues (described in more detail on Robinhood’s policy site).

Location: This role is based in our Washington, DC office, with in-person attendance expected at least 5 days per week.

What you’ll do
Advocate for relevant policy issues and develop relationships with state and local policymakers in the U.S.
Lead engagements with industry associations, ensuring their agenda supports Robinhood’s policy goals
Utilize political and policy expertise to identify opportunities that advance Robinhood’s policy priorities
Equip key internal stakeholders with clear and timely understanding of complex legislative and regulatory policies
Manage the strategy of and prepare Robinhood executives for engagements with relevant state government officials
Engage directly in-person with state government officials across the U.S.
What you bring
5+ years of experience working in state government, U.S. Congress, or government affairs
Substantial experience working with or in state and local government or government affairs
Familiarity with financial services companies and ability to communicate complex financial services policy, with a proven track record of advancing interests in these areas
Existing relationships and positive rapport with relevant government stakeholders and industry groups
Excellent written, interpersonal, and communication skills; ability to communicate information effectively internally and externally and to drive cross-functional alignment and action
Execution-oriented attitude with the humility, drive, and creativity to get things done
Experience working in-house at another fintech or private sector company, with broker-dealers, and/or engaging with or working for one or more federal or state financial services regulators is a plus
Eager to learn about new and emerging technologies

In addition to the base pay range listed below, this role is also eligible for bonus opportunities + equity + benefits.
Base pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. The expected base pay range for this role is based on the location where the work will be performed and is aligned to one of 3 compensation zones. For other locations not listed, compensation can be discussed with your recruiter during the interview process.
Base Pay Range:
Zone 1 (Menlo Park, CA; New York, NY; Bellevue, WA; Washington, DC)
$128,000 – $150,000 USD
