Job Description

Support Government Affairs Department representing the company’s best interest through grassroots initiatives, interacting with state and federal industry associations, and supporting all government relations functions.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Execute grassroots initiatives by developing strategy to identify and educate parties of interest on key public policy issues.
  • Act as liaison in collaboration between the Government Affairs Department and other company and/or association contacts.
  • Increase the awareness and understanding of the business, industry positions and like-minded association’s initiatives.
  • Coordinate legislative visits for facility tours and Capitol Days.
  • Track federal and state legislative issues of interest.
  • Assume other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Not responsible for supervising employees.

Requirements

Education & Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in the field, continuing education as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • College degree preferred
  • Capitol Hill or advocacy experience preferred

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Be able to interact with all levels of management.

Essential Physical Demands/Work Environment:

  • Working hours will be adjusted at the discretion of the VP to accommodate workload.
  • Must have the ability to work under conditions of frequent interruptions.
  • Must also work under pressure comfortably.
