As Scale continues to build and develop its Government Relations function, we are looking for a Government Relations Manager to support our Congressional Engagements related to Government Funding.
You will join a rapidly growing team with the opportunity to manage and execute Congressional engagement with a primary focus on Appropriations. The successful candidate will have a history of successfully driving successful Policy outcomes and a solid understanding of Congressional processes/procedures.
Responsibilities
- Manage Appropriations portfolio on behalf of the Company and support efforts to shape future year funding at various Agencies
- Work to understand business objectives related to the portfolio and translate them into Policy
- Assist in the formation of Scale’s government affairs strategy and priorities
- Advise and brief Scale Leadership on policies impacting Artificial Intelligence Policy
- Build relationships with and educate Members of Congress, DoD Officials, and Congressional staff on issues related to government funding for artificial intelligence
- Monitor policy, legislative, and regulatory changes for potential impact on Scale’s business
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Between 4-6 years of experience in Legislative Affairs or working in the Government
- Experience successfully securing provisions in the Appropriations process
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A history of managing multiple work streams simultaneously

Compensation Packages
Compensation packages at Scale for eligible roles include base salary, equity, and benefits. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position, determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, interview performance, and relevant education or training. Scale employees in eligible roles are also granted equity-based compensation, subject to Board of Director approval. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process and confirm whether the hired role will be eligible for an equity grant. You’ll also receive benefits including, but not limited to: comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage, retirement benefits, a learning and development stipend, and generous PTO. Additionally, this role may be eligible for additional benefits such as a commuter stipend.
The base salary range for this full-time position in the location of Washington DC is:
$164,000 – $205,000 USD
