Overview
The Head of Communications & Public Relations plays a crucial role in shaping and managing the public image and reputation of the organization. This position requires a blend of strategic thinking, creativity, and strong communication skills to develop and execute effective communication strategies that enhance brand visibility, build positive relationships with stakeholders, and manage crises when necessary. This person will need in-depth knowledge of their industry and work independently to drive Axonius’s public perception.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Communication Planning
- Develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies aligned with organizational goals, values, and target audience preferences.
- Identify key messages and themes that support brand positioning and drive engagement with target stakeholders.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including executive leadership, marketing, and HR, to align communication efforts across the organization.
Media Relations and Publicity
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with members of the media, industry influencers, and other external stakeholders.
- Pitch story ideas, press releases, and thought leadership content to relevant media outlets to secure positive coverage and publicity.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for media inquiries and interview requests, coordinating responses and spokesperson availability as needed.
Content Development and Messaging
- Create compelling content for various communication channels, including press releases, blog posts, bylined articles, speeches, and social media posts.
- Ensure consistency of messaging and branding across all communication materials and platforms.
- Adapt communication strategies and content to address different audiences, including customers, employees, investors, and the general public.
Crisis Communication and Reputation Management
- Develop crisis communication plans and protocols to effectively manage and mitigate potential issues or reputational risks for Axonius.
- Serve as the spokesperson for the organization during times of crisis, providing timely and transparent communication to internal and external stakeholders.
- Monitor media coverage and social media conversations to identify potential issues and proactively address them before they escalate.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, or related roles.
- Proven track record of successfully developing and implementing communication strategies that drive brand awareness and engagement.
- Strong media relations skills, with a network of contacts in the media and demonstrated ability to secure positive coverage.
- Excellent writing and editing skills, with the ability to craft clear, concise, and compelling communication materials.
- Crisis management experience, with the ability to remain calm and composed under pressure and effectively navigate sensitive situations.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Expertise in communication tools and platforms, including media monitoring software, content management systems, and social media management tools.
The listed pay range is not inclusive of our bonus structure and equity; it reflects the base pay range only.

Axonius is committed to fair and equitable compensation packages. A candidate’s salary will be based on qualifications and relevant experience. In addition to a competitive salary, our packages include stock options, attractive benefits, and an annual bonus.
Annual Salary Range (does not include bonus or equity)
$180,000—$205,000 USD
