### What You’ll Be Doing

Verizon is looking for a Lobbyist in our Washington DC office.

Responsibilities will include:

– Developing and maintaining positive relationships with and advocating before Members of Congress and their staffs with lead responsibility for representing Verizon before Republican members of the U.S. House.
– Managing stakeholder service escalations through conclusion.
– Coordinating with state government affairs to manage stakeholder inquiries on issues related to the network.
– Working with internal leadership team to develop VZ’s federal legislative objectives and priorities.
– Working with external team leads to develop and execute a legislative strategy to achieve specific policy objectives, with a focus on medium and long-term strategy.
– Tracking Congressional activity including committee hearings and markups as well as floor action on legislative priorities.
– Coordinating messaging on issues/legislation and for hearings, markups, and floor votes in the House and Senate.

### What We’re Looking For

You’ll need to have:

– Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
– Six or more years of relevant work experience.
– Established network of professional relationships with specific line of sight into Congressional Republican politics.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

– Graduate degree
– Professional attitude and demonstrated business acumen.
– Ability to solve problems in a sophisticated manner with the ability to understand conflicting dynamics and collaborate on mutually beneficial solutions.
– Ability to rapidly assess potential risks, benefits, and consequences and effectively counsel internal clients concerning business risks.
– Strong leadership skills.
– Exceptionally strong written and oral communication skills.
– Excellent planning and organizational skills.
– Strong advocacy/negotiation skills.

### Where You’ll Be Working

In this hybrid role, you’ll have a defined work location that includes work from home and a minimum of eight assigned office days per month that will be set by your manager.

### Compensation

If you are hired into a California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Maryland, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island, Washington or Washington, D.C. work location, the compensation range for this position is between $121,000.00 and $225,000.00 annually based on a full-time schedule. The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive-based position with the potential to earn more. For part-time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
