I.       Purpose of Position
The Digital Content Manager is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and growth of AdvaMed web properties and digital communication platforms.  This includes email marketing tools and social media, working with staff to write and refine content to be in-line with the content taxonomy and overall messaging, and ensuring that content is fresh and presented in a user-friendly manner across mobile, tablet, and PC devices.  The position is also responsible for providing insights and analysis of AdvaMed digital properties using a variety of analytics tools.  This position requires excellent writing and design skills with the ability to turn complex, technical information into compelling content for the web, social media, newsletters, and other digital platforms.  Candidate must be creative, proactive, have a knack for collaborating with others, and the ability to juggle a mix of daily tasks and longer-term projects.  The position reports to the Associate Vice President, Public Affairs.

 

II.      Essential Duties of Position
Leads the adaptation of content for the web. Utilizes visual design and writing skills to take the content that is produced by subject matter experts and apply it to the web in a compelling, visual, easy-to-navigate format using best practices

Helps coordinate web content updates across all departments and serves as main point-of-contact for internal requests and for trouble-shooting issues reported by staff and members

Updates and posts content

Provides quality control of all content being posted to AdvaMed web properties

Maintains a consistent look and feel throughout all web properties ensuring that web content adheres to content strategy, messaging, tone, and style

Trains and assists content editors across the organization so that they can use web and newsletter platforms effectively

Assists Associate Vice President in managing multiple concurrent web projects and vendors from start to finish, ensuring all requirements have been met, sites are thoroughly tested, and projects are delivered on time and within budget

Works with key staff and external vendors to develop plans for optimizing users’ website experience.  Gains insights from web analytics and creates and implement plans to drive engagement, improve visitor interactions, and optimize performance of web properties

Coordinates with vendors and internal staff to drive process, fix issues, and constantly improve the design, functionality, and user experience across web and digital platforms

Assists with internal graphic design requests, including formatting documents, presentations, web and social media graphics, and other materials ensuring alignment with AdvaMed brand guidelines

Other duties as assigned

Travel Requirements: 0 – 5%

 

III.     Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
Proven experience in digital content management, web or graphic design, digital communications, web content writing/editing, or related field

Knowledge of maintaining and updating web content and familiarity with content management systems.  Experience with Drupal content management system (preferred) and creating content for responsive websites and newsletters

A proven track record and experience in understanding website architecture and components, web content management software, and a base understanding of HTML and CSS

Graphic and/or web design experience necessary including familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite

Demonstrated experience collecting, analyzing, and reporting on web analytics and knowledge of SEO

Ability to apply content to new web pages, and create graphics optimized for the web, social media, and other digital platforms

Ability to present content in a visually compelling manner across a variety of content delivery platforms including webpages, newsletters, and social media

Ability to establish and maintain effective and collaborative working relationships with internal staff and AdvaMed members

Effective oral and written communication skills

Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work with minimal supervision as part of a lean team while wearing multiple hats.

Open-minded and willing to lead new projects and learn new skills. Always adapting to the changing digital environment

Ability to be proactive, take initiative, and overcome challenges to complete projects, tasks and assignments, and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment

 

IV.     Specifications
Minimum Education Required: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and practical experience.
Minimum Experience Required: 5-8 years of experience in web design, web development, digital communications, web content writing/editing, or related fields, CRM/AMS experience a plus.
