Position Overview

The Clean Energy Buyer’s Association (CEBA) is committed to helping energy customers overcome market and policy barriers to pursue clean energy and decarbonize grids. CEBA empowers customers to procure clean energy for their operations and supply chains.

We are seeking an experienced Program Manager/Senior Program Manager to enhance the impact of our clean energy education and training programs. These programs, including the Clean Energy Procurement Academy, equip energy customers in the U.S. and Asia with the skills to procure clean energy in their markets.

The Program Manager/Senior Program Manager will oversee program management from design through execution and evaluation for virtual and in-person customer training programs. This role requires collaboration with internal teams, CEBA members, external partners, and stakeholders to deliver clean energy procurement training initiatives. The ideal candidate will have project management experience, a passion for sustainability, and a background in training or educational program development.

The individual will report to the Director of the program and collaborate closely with CEBA teams involved in energy policy, communications, monitoring & evaluation, and finance & operations.

Core Responsibilities

  • Manage the planning and execution of clean energy customer training programs within project plans, timelines, and budgets.
  • Oversee virtual and in-person training and customer activation with CEBA partners in each country, as assigned.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to maintain an accurate, complete, and current training curriculum consistent across programs by keeping abreast of industry trends.
  • Lead stakeholder outreach, engagement, and planning, including designing and facilitating external convenings.
  • Develop training materials that are engaging, informative, and accessible to all participants.
  • Monitor and assess the effectiveness of training programs via feedback, assessments, and performance metrics in collaboration with CEBA’s learning expert.
  • Develop and present program progress, outcomes, and key metrics to senior management and funders.
  • Liaise with internal teams (Communications, Global Policy and Markets, etc.), external partners, and stakeholders to gather requirements, align objectives, and ensure effective communication.
  • Provide thought leadership on strategic priorities, including supply chain engagement and clean energy procurement.
  • Lead and develop CEBA Global Program colleagues through leadership, coaching, guidance, and engagement.
  • Support fundraising efforts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Supervise Coordinator(s) and Associate(s).

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years’ experience and a Master’s Degree or
  • 10+ years’ experience and a Bachelor’s Degree or
  • 15+ years’ experience if no higher degree.
  • Proven project management experience, preferably in the clean energy sector with a focus on training or educational programs.
  • Sustainability and/or clean energy experience in the APAC region.
  • Proven ability to deliver resources, tools, and platforms to support organizations in procuring clean energy.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States.

Additional Qualifications

  • Knowledge of global energy markets and clean energy solutions.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills adaptable to various audiences.
  • Adaptability to new situations and ability to work in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.

Physical Demands

  • Domestic and international travel up to 20% annually.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
