Job Description
Are you passionate about global issues and building relationships that drive meaningful impact? As the Manager of Global Stakeholder Strategy & Partnerships on McDonald’s Global Impact Team, you’ll play a pivotal role in strengthening our brand and advancing our priorities across People, Planet, and Business.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Global Stakeholder Strategy & Partnerships, you’ll manage the implementation of strategic stakeholder engagement plans, foster partnerships, and represent McDonald’s at major global events like Climate Week and COP. Collaborating across teams, you’ll identify emerging issues, mitigate risks, and champion McDonald’s efforts to drive responsible business growth.
Job Responsibilities
- Help shape and optimize McDonald’s global external stakeholder engagement strategy—mapping, auditing, and managing partnerships that align with our ambitions and values.
- Create and manage a calendar of key global stakeholder events that provide opportunities to enhance brand reputation.
- Execute activations at global convenings, including COP and UNGA/Climate Week, ensuring meaningful engagement that aligns with strategic business objectives.
- Build and nurture relationships with key external stakeholders, including industry groups, influencers, NGOs, and policymakers, to ensure that McDonald’s interests are represented.
- Drive McDonald’s reputation-building efforts through outreach, education, and proactive storytelling to key audiences.
- Develop a “One McDonald’s Way” of external stakeholder engagement and support upskilling of internal teams and global markets.
- Develop, manage, and champion an internal system for tracking stakeholder relationships.
- Monitor global news, political developments, and emerging issues to identify risks and opportunities, working with policy managers, markets, and internal functions to proactively address potential challenges.

Expected salary range: $112,860 – $143,900 per year

Qualifications

You’re a strategic thinker and skilled relationship-builder who thrives in fast-paced environments. You’re adept at analyzing complex data, navigating global issues and risks, and identifying proactive opportunities to elevate McDonald’s reputation. A natural communicator, you’re as comfortable advising senior leaders as you are engaging with external stakeholders. You’re excited about working on global issues and with international audiences, including with multilateral institutions like the UN.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years in public affairs, government relations, or a similar role.
- Expertise and interest in key policy areas: sustainability, human rights, labor standards, franchise business model, and more.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to adapt to rapidly changing priorities.
- Familiarity with global legislative and policy processes, including the UN system.
- Proven track record of external stakeholder engagement and cross-functional collaboration.
- Exceptional communication, research, and analytical skills.
- Some domestic and international travel may be required.
