Senior Communications Strategist

The DSCC is hiring a Senior Communications Strategist for the 2026 cycle. The Senior Communications Strategist leads the Communications Department’s work on Senate campaigns and helps hire and manage on-the-ground accountability staff.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Managing a portfolio of battleground states and, in collaboration with the Communications Director, developing and executing communications strategies for those states.

• Providing ongoing strategic communications guidance to campaigns in the assigned battleground states.

• Serving as the communications expert on the assigned battleground states, working across departments at the Committee.

• Assisting in the hiring and management of communications staff embedded at state parties to localize and define Republican candidates.

• Working with state and national reporters to place stories and develop media narratives.

Ideal qualifications include but are not limited to:

• At least one cycle of experience as a Communications Director on a competitive statewide campaign.

• Significant on-the-record experience.

• Experience hiring and managing multiple staffers.

• Familiarity with campaign communication tactics, including working with reporters, writing communications materials, and collaborating with consulting teams.

Salary & Benefits

Salary: $130,000 annually.
