## **Manager/Director, Communications and Public Affairs**
*(Motion Picture Association)*

The **Manager/Director, Communications and Public Affairs** is responsible for a wide range of duties in support of the Communications and Public Affairs team at the Motion Picture Association (MPA). The Manager/Director will contribute to day‑to‑day media relations and communications activities in support of the film, television, and streaming industry’s key issues. This position reports to the Vice President, Communications and Public Affairs.

This position is based in the MPA’s global headquarters in Washington, DC. The DC office follows a mandatory hybrid schedule of **three days per week in the office** and **two optional remote days**.

**Salary range:** $85,000–$95,000

## **Responsibilities**

– **Manage communications campaigns** focused on core advocacy priorities, including managing existing coalitions and working closely with third‑party organizations.
– **Contribute to and lead** the rollout of MPA‑produced research, including economic impact reports.
– **Draft public‑facing materials**, including press releases, statements, op‑eds, and articles for *The Credits*.
– **Lead development of two newsletters** — one weekly and one quarterly.
– **Build, organize, and maintain press lists** and other key databases.
– **Coordinate projects** between multiple stakeholders across the association, including digital, events, research, government affairs, content protection, legal, and film ratings.
– **Think creatively and proactively** about how to publicly position and advance the goals of the MPA.
– **Assist with logistical preparation and staffing** for association events, typically held in the evening.
– **Manage special projects and assignments** as needed.
