Job Description

This position is focused on the state and local level, but you’ll be joining a global organization that helps shape policy and legislation at all levels of government. As part of the state and local team, you will engage with elected officials and stakeholders to be part of the solution on key public policy issues, working with the company to align objectives with outcomes.

This position will have both near- and far-term impact, as you will work directly with the lead regional manager to engage elected officials and organizations to produce outcomes that support Ford’s business and drive engagement with industry associations, business groups, and key coalitions in the policy process. Our group values teamwork and strong communication skills. We are looking for an individual that is willing to learn and grow while helping deliver results at all levels. Our relatively flat organization will allow you to engage with a variety of areas of the business, providing growth opportunities.

Responsibilities

You’ll have…

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field (Political Science, Business, International Business); graduate / master’s level or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum 3 – 5 years’ experience supporting government or corporate interests at the local, state, or national level.

  • Participation in projects involving a team of multi-disciplinary functions.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize tasks appropriately.
  • Good organization skills and strong work ethic as enablers to demonstrated ability to meet tight deadlines with high quality results.
  • Lobbying/policy experience preferable.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
