Job Details
Join Cencora’s U.S. Public Policy & Advocacy team and help shape the company’s political engagement strategy. This Washington, D.C.-based role oversees the Cencora PAC, grassroots advocacy initiatives, political engagement programs, and compliance activities while building relationships that advance Cencora’s policy priorities, as well as the operational efficiency of office operations.

Responsibilities
Lead and manage Cencora’s Political Action Committee (Cencora PAC), including fundraising and growth opportunities to expand it as one of the company’s core political and strategic resources that advances Cencora’s mission and objectives in Washington, DC, and relevant states.
Lead Cencora’s grassroots program and get-out-the-vote political programs.
Create and execute political program events for internal audiences.
Oversee the day-to-day operations, budget, compliance, and growth of the Cencora PAC.
Manage office administration, office operations, lobbying compliance reports, and political giving compliance reports, with support from another team member.
Prepare PAC presentations and communications.
Manage and prepare documents and briefings for the Cencora PAC Board and PAC Board meetings.
Execute employee fundraising campaigns.
Develop and distribute PAC communications, including educational and solicitation materials.
Establish and maintain a network of relationships with campaign fundraisers and industry colleagues.
Establish a strategic plan for the Cencora PAC and political engagement opportunities.
Manage FEC compliance, ensuring adherence to FEC regulations and state and federal campaign finance laws.
Manage lobbying compliance for federal and state entities, ensuring timely and accurate registrations and reporting.
Administer political engagement governance activities by maintaining operating procedures, required filings, controls, and audit-ready documentation.
Evaluate legislative and regulatory developments and develop impact assessments, scenario considerations, and advocacy action recommendations.
Develop executive briefings, talking points, and internal updates that align leadership on how PAC and political programs support policy positions, risks, and engagement priorities.
Execute government and stakeholder engagement activities by planning outreach, preparing meeting materials, and ensuring follow-through on action items.
Develop grassroots and grasstops communication materials by aligning messaging, timing, and channels with advocacy objectives and stakeholder needs.
Maintain the PAC database and PAC recognition awards distribution list.
Plan and execute annual events for supporters of the Cencora PAC.
Prepare the PAC annual report and newsletters.
Prepare the annual political engagement statement.
Coordinate with fundraisers to plan and execute PAC events in Washington, DC.
Enhance existing PAC resources and create new materials, including website updates, communications assets, videos, and related resources.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Work Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy, Journalism, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience required.
4+ years of experience in government affairs, public policy, advocacy (state and/or federal), legislative or regulatory analysis, stakeholder management, or a related field required.
Experience managing a federal PAC.
Working knowledge of FEC rules.
Thorough understanding of the U.S. government, political processes, and legislative procedures.
Thorough understanding of U.S. federal and state campaign finance laws.
Experience interacting with and presenting to executives and senior leadership.
Experience developing and implementing processes that improve efficiency and collaboration.
Experience managing a corporate PAC preferred but not required.
Skills and Knowledge
Strong project, program, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to handle competing priorities and multiple initiatives simultaneously.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present information effectively to diverse audiences.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to assess policy, legislative, and regulatory developments and synthesize key implications.
Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships, collaborate across internal and external stakeholders, and resolve issues efficiently.
Ability to work independently, take initiative, exercise sound judgment, and represent the organization professionally and discreetly.
Experience managing budgets and financial resources.
Experience leading and managing people, programs, and cross-functional initiatives.
Knowledge of common business productivity and presentation tools, including word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, email, and design/layout software.
Ability to implement and maintain processes that support compliance, governance, reporting, and audit-ready documentation.
Ability to travel as needed.
