Media Relations Specialist
As a Media Relations Specialist, you will be responsible for managing relationships with various media outlets in the automotive retail industry. This includes responding to inquiries quickly and professionally and proactively reaching out to media contacts to help develop stories. Your main objective will be to develop working relationships with members of the media so that Reynolds messages and that of its businesses are understood and reported with accuracy and consistency. You will work closely with the marketing communications and product planning teams to ensure consistent brand messaging. You will be responsible for coordinating product demos and managing interviews between media contacts and Reynolds executives. This includes remote conversations and in-person trade shows. Travel to trade shows is required as needed.
Additionally, you will be responsible for media monitoring and analysis, as well as distributing information and stories to the Reynolds executive team. In this role, you will also manage relationships with local media outlets in the communities we serve. You will be responsible for maintaining Reynolds’ positive position in these communities. This role requires great inter-personal skills, a dedication to timely follow up, a collaborative work style, and excellent critical thinking.
3-5+ years of media relations experience, automotive retail industry preferred
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Must have good time management skills
10% travel expected
