Job Description
J.A. Green & Co., a Capitol Hill-based government relations and consulting firm, is seeking a full-time Policy Analyst. Our client base ranges from startups to major OEMs, supporting a broad base of industries critical to national security, including defense, logistics, energy, critical materials, and more.

The Policy Analyst will provide crucial support to Green & Co.’s team of consultants, lobbyists, and retired general and flag officers. The Analyst will research legislative issues, execute client projects, and support government relations strategies for an assigned portfolio of companies in the defense industrial base. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, has experience in security policy, and is familiar with the U.S. national security enterprise.

Duties:
Serves as the subject matter expert for a portfolio of clients; works with the firm’s lobbyists and Executive Vice Presidents to execute Legislative and Executive Branch advocacy strategies;

Conducts client-specific research; identifies and tracks legislation and regulations that impact client priorities;

Creates and edits business documents and presentation materials;

Tracks meeting correspondence;

Analyzes legislative developments;

Drafts issue summaries, white papers, Op-Eds, and policy alerts;

Supports senior staff with business development efforts.

Qualifications:
B.S. or B.A. in a relevant field is required;

Advanced writing experience is required;

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel required;

Experience with policy analysis on Capitol Hill, in the Executive Branch, or more generally within the Government Relations field is preferred;

Experience with the congressional authorization and appropriations process for the Department of Defense is preferred;

Experience with marketing and/or public relations is preferred.
