## Overview

Invest in Education is seeking a highly organized and tech‑savvy **Operations and Communications Manager** to support and optimize day‑to‑day operations in Washington, D.C. This role is ideal for a detail‑oriented professional who excels at managing complex schedules, improving operational workflows, and leveraging technology—including AI tools—to drive efficiency and impact.

The ideal candidate brings strong organizational skills, a systems‑oriented mindset, and the ability to use data and digital tools to streamline processes and support strategic initiatives.

The Operations and Communications Manager reports directly to the President and CEO and is expected to be in the Washington, DC office at least twice per week.

## Key Responsibilities

### Scheduling & Operations Management

– Own and manage complex scheduling across internal teams and external stakeholders, ensuring efficient coordination of meetings, events, and priorities.
– Develop, implement, and continuously improve operational processes to enhance efficiency, organization, and productivity.
– Serve as a central point of coordination to ensure clear communication and alignment across multiple workstreams.
– Maintain and optimize CRM systems, ensuring accurate, up‑to‑date data and effective list management.
– Coordinate logistics for meetings and events, including scheduling, materials preparation, and partner communication.
– Proactively identify operational bottlenecks and implement solutions to improve workflow and time management.

### Technology & Data Optimization

– Leverage technology platforms and AI tools to automate routine tasks, improve scheduling efficiency, and enhance operational workflows.
– Utilize data management systems (CRM, spreadsheets, dashboards) to track activities, analyze trends, and support decision‑making.
– Support the development of dashboards and reporting tools to provide visibility into operations and performance.
– Evaluate and recommend new tools or systems to improve organizational effectiveness.

### Research & Strategic Support

– Conduct targeted research to inform organizational strategy and communications.
– Synthesize complex information into clear, actionable insights for internal and external stakeholders.
– Prepare reports, presentations, and briefing materials that support leadership decision‑making.

### Communications and Marketing

– Support the creation and maintenance of internal and external communications, including scheduling and coordinating content distribution.
– Draft and edit content for newsletters, updates, and digital platforms with attention to clarity and consistency.
– Collaborate across teams to ensure messaging, timelines, and deliverables are aligned.

## Qualifications

– 3–5+ years of experience in operations, scheduling, coordination, or a related role
– Ability to travel up to 15%
– Demonstrated ability to manage complex calendars, logistics, and multiple priorities simultaneously
– Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and CRM systems
– Experience using or willingness to learn AI and automation tools to improve workflows and productivity
– Familiarity with Capitol Hill and the legislative process preferred
– Exceptional organizational, time management, and prioritization skills
– Strong written and verbal communication abilities
– Bachelor’s degree required

## Compensation

The expected salary range for this role is **$75,000 – $100,000**, depending on experience and qualifications.
