Position Summary

The Advocacy Specialist executes campaigns supporting the Foundation’s efforts to ensure that all people with CF have access to healthcare. Responsibilities include grassroots organizing, event planning, drafting advocacy materials, and collaborating with stakeholders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Build grassroots volunteer capacity for policy advocacy efforts.
  • Recruit, vet, and train volunteer advocacy leaders.
  • Draft advocacy materials and action alerts.
  • Plan and execute grassroots advocacy events.
  • Serve as a liaison between policy team, communications, and volunteers.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Minimum four years of experience in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of legislative and political processes.
  • Familiarity with mobilization software preferred.
  • Excellent writing, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic.

Reporting Relationships

Reports to the Senior Manager, Policy & Advocacy. No direct reports.

Working Conditions

  • Normal office environment with minimal travel.
  • No heavy lifting required.
