### Position Summary
The **Policy Analyst** position plays a key role in advancing The Bernhardt Group’s government affairs priorities by providing policy analysis and legislative research. This role supports strategic objectives through monitoring policy developments, building stakeholder relationships, and developing resources to inform and strengthen engagement with policymakers and regulatory agencies.

The ideal candidate is a collaborative, detail‑oriented professional able to manage multiple priorities, adapt to changing demands, and perform effectively in a fast‑paced environment.

## Job Duties
– Supports and advances government affairs initiatives through legislative research, policy analysis, advocacy, and relationship‑building.
– Manages assigned legislative and regulatory portfolios with increasing independence, monitors and analyzes congressional and agency activity, and provides strategic insight on complex policy issues.
– Develops and disseminates advocacy and policy materials—including issue briefs, fact sheets, legislative summaries, and draft testimony—and contributes to advocacy strategy development.
– Tracks and organizes legislative and regulatory data, maintains databases, and prepares reports and briefings for senior staff.
– Coordinates special projects, may work with external consultants, and responds to inquiries.
– Provides administrative and operational support as needed.
– Performs other duties as required.

## Qualifications
– At least 2 years of work experience, including at least 1 year of Congressional or Administration experience is required.
– Exceptional writing skills are required.
– Bachelor’s Degree.
– Experience working with the U.S. House of Representatives, U.S. Senate, Federal Government Agencies, political campaigns, advocacy and lobbying, and/or policy research and analysis is required.
– Understanding of legislative process and executive branch function.
– Strong computer and research skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
– Ability to work well under pressure and balance competing priorities.
– Ability to engage clients and government officials in a mature, professional manner.
– Experience tracking legislation.

## Compensation and Benefits
The Bernhardt Group offers a benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, 401(k) + match, and personal time off.

Salary range for this role: **$60,000–$80,000**, depending on experience.
