The nation’s largest small business advocacy organization looks to hire a Political Program Manager to join its Political team in Washington, DC.

Responsibilities

  • The Political Programs Manager manages the candidate research and evaluation process.
  • Drafts PAC Board endorsement write-ups.
  • Coordinates campaign activity plans on behalf of pro-small business candidates and assists with GOTV efforts.
  • Serves as project manager for organization-wide political communications projects and as a point of contact with candidates.
  • Processes Fed PAC check requests through PAC database and ensures the timely request of PAC disbursements.
  • Tracks all political expenditures to ensure proper reporting to the Federal Election Commission.
  • Assists in grassroots and political advocacy programs and in coordination of special events showcasing NFIB’s political program.

Must communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; work outcomes must meet and/or exceed productivity and quality standards. Must be able to work as part of a cooperative team environment and independent of direct supervision; adhere to Company and Department policies and procedures, including regular and predictable attendance. Performs other projects as needed.

This position will work in our Washington, DC office. Starting salary for the role is $70,000.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years in political, Capitol Hill, and/or trade association experience.
  • Working knowledge of the political and legislative process; knowledge of current events in the political and legislative arena.
  • Basic knowledge of industry-related technologies, including social media outlets, databases, and email and fax systems.
  • Strong research and writing skills.
