Position Summary
The Federal Affairs Program Specialist works closely with the Director of Federal Affairs and provides program management and policy support for the NACHC State Policy Team. The Specialist will be responsible for managing policy resource development and communication with NACHC members and stakeholders. This position has the opportunity to work on a broad range of federal affairs issues.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provides administrative and program management support to the federal affairs team.

- Manages federal affairs inbox and responds to member inquiries.
- Responsible for compiling and organizing weekly newsletters.
- Draft email communications to support the team’s projects and events.
- Oversees logistics and coordination for federal affairs team’s webinars and presentations.
- Develop resources like issue briefs, factsheets, and blogs to educate health centers, PCAs, and HCCNs.

2. Track federal legislation and emerging federal policy issues.

- Familiar with legislative tracking and research platforms.
- Support research into emerging federal issue areas.

3. Manage coordination and collaboration with Primary Care Associations (PCAs) on federal legislation.
Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in public policy, public health, or a related field.
- At least 2-3 years of professional experience.
- Experience creating and delivering substantive presentations.
- Comfortable with public speaking virtually and in person.

Note: 5% travel per year to major conferences.
