Public Health Communications Specialist
Location: Fairfax County, VA
Position Type: Full-Time Contract
Normal Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Overview
The Public Health Communications Specialist develops and delivers strategic communications to promote health programs, engage the community, and support public health initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
Develop communication plans and materials for public health programs

Write and edit press releases, website content, and social media posts

Coordinate public events and outreach campaigns

Monitor media coverage and respond to public inquiries

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, or related field

Excellent writing, editing, and presentation skills

Preferred Qualifications
Experience in public health or government communications

Familiarity with digital media tools and analytics
