Meta is seeking a Public Policy Manager, External Affairs, to advance Meta’s relationships with key economic and workforce advocacy partners on public policy issues. In this role, you will work across a wide spectrum of public policy issues, cultivating relationships with national advocacy organizations as well as business leaders to inform Meta’s policy and program development.
The manager will develop long-term partnerships to advance Meta’s issue engagement, information sharing, advocacy, and create opportunities for small businesses and entrepreneurs to gain digital skills, like AI, so they can create, build, and grow their businesses.
The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented, creative, get-things-done professional who can function independently in a fast-moving environment, and rapidly earn credibility and trust with external partners as well as within the organization. They will also have a demonstrated interest and knowledge of government, economic development, and technology.
Public Policy Manager, External Affairs Responsibilities
Public Policy & Program Engagement:
Manage day-to-day engagement with a set of key stakeholders, including information sharing with relevant internal partners, to advise on Meta’s policy priorities.
Attend events in DC with occasional travel to conferences elsewhere in the US.
Co-manage small business advocacy program which includes developing programming to support SMBs and entrepreneurs, and identifying advocacy opportunities.
Work with the policy team to advance Meta’s policy priorities with third-party groups, particularly on artificial intelligence, competition, emerging technologies, and energy policy.
Internal Collaboration:
Work closely with numerous internal partners, including Business, Communications, Public Affairs, Legal, and Federal and State Policy teams to set strategy for key policy campaigns and product launches.
Information Management:
Aid in tracking progress against key priorities.
Keep careful records for engagements and communications with third-party organizations.
Track public commentary from third-party stakeholders on key issues.
Complete administrative tasks surrounding budget tracking and charitable contributions.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in political science, policy, law, business, or related field.
5+ years of experience with government relations, political campaigns, and/or stakeholder management.
Event management experience.
Experience executing cross-functional policy campaigns.
Preferred Qualifications
Communications and interpersonal relationship skills.
Experience managing internal and external relations.
Experience managing a budget.
Experience articulating policies and their reasoning to various audiences effectively.

Compensation
$119,000/year to $177,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base hourly rate, monthly rate, or annual salary only, and do not include bonus, equity, or sales incentives, if applicable.
