Public Relations and Corporate Affairs Analyst – Job Opportunity at Oxy

Oxy, an international energy company, is seeking an experienced and motivated individual for the position of Public Relations and Corporate Affairs Analyst within our Corporate Affairs Department in Houston, TX.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

Supporting Worldwide Media Relations:

  • Implementing media strategy at the corporate level and for global business units.
  • Assisting with media relations, public affairs initiatives, and crisis management.

Content Creation and Distribution:

  • Monitoring news media sources for relevant business or industry news.
  • Drafting media statements, news releases, Q&A documents, and other materials.
  • Contributing content and ideas for Occidental’s website, intranet, social media, and collateral.

Collaboration and Coordination:

  • Coordinating with vendors.
  • Collaborating on external communications projects.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate communications or PR agency.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a communications field or related discipline.
  • Client-centered with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and a resourceful problem solver.
  • Maturity, confidence, and poise to interface effectively with senior-level executives and external constituents.
  • Familiarity with online research sources and methods.
