## Reuters is seeking a researcher to join our dynamic team ahead of the 2026 elections

As the Research Manager, you will play a crucial role in understanding and recording the vote count process in all 50 states.

Applicants should have experience working on prior U.S. elections and understand the details of how elections work in the United States.

Candidates should have a strong grasp of different vote count methods (absentee, early voting) as well as experience communicating with local and state-level election officials. Candidates must identify potential gaps and anomalies in how vote count is reported in individual counties.

Strong organizational skills are required.

The Research Manager will perform the research but also work across teams and partners to track progress of research overall and for each state.

This position does not include news reporting on or a detailed knowledge of politics, but candidates should be familiar with key election concepts such as “swing states,” “opinion polling,” “voting patterns,” and “expected vote.”

Successful candidates work well under pressure and are able to meet hard deadlines.

If you are passionate about American democracy, the electoral process, and creating a modern vote count strategy, we invite you to join us on our exciting journey!

At Reuters, our Trust Principles of integrity, independence, and unbiased reporting are integral to the core of our business.
