### Key Responsibilities

Monitor and analyze Congressional activity, federal agency actions, and regulatory developments impacting MISO; prepare briefings and insights to guide senior leadership and inform strategic decision‑making.

Coordinate with internal subject matter experts to gather input and prepare materials for external meetings, inquiries, and requests from federal policymakers and regulators.

Partner with MISO’s strategic communications team to shape messaging and create external‑facing materials that reflect MISO’s priorities across federal and regional policy audiences.

Support smooth operations of MISO’s Washington, D.C. office, assisting with facilities coordination, executive support needs, and stakeholder events.

Assist the Executive Director of Federal Government Relations in engagement with federal lawmakers, regulators, trade associations, and member representatives; build relationships and advance MISO’s policy objectives.

Participate in trade organization activities, including ISO‑RTO Council committees, conferences, and targeted member outreach.

Contribute to internal and external committees, task forces, and working groups, providing reporting and expertise.

Perform additional duties as assigned.

## What We’re Looking For

Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Economics, Communications, Legal Studies, or related field (required).

Minimum 4 years of relevant experience (required).

Experience on Capitol Hill, in the executive branch, or in government relations for a trade association, corporation, or nonprofit (preferred).

Background in the energy industry (preferred).

Strong understanding of federal regulatory and legislative processes (White House, DOE, EPA, FERC, NERC, Congress).

Excellent written communication skills, including experience developing briefings, reports, and policy analysis.

Experience tracking legislation or regulatory actions.

Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint.

Ability to learn and apply knowledge of utility operations, market operations, and MISO tariff requirements.

This role offers the opportunity to influence federal energy policy, work with key decision‑makers, and contribute to shaping the future of the electric grid. The position level will be determined based on experience and expertise.

The base salary compensation range being offered for this role is $96,000–121,000 USD annually. Base salary range for this position is included in accordance with requirements of various state/local pay transparency legislation. Salaries may vary based on factors including but not limited to location, competencies, education/professional certifications, and qualifications/experience.

Position is also eligible for an annual bonus if individual performance and company objectives are met. At MISO we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including 401k, vacation, sick and safe time, available on your first day of employment.

Appropriate level will be determined based upon experience and knowledge.
