About the Role

The Senior Associate is a ‘people person,’ creative thinker and problem solver with experience as a relationship builder and working with communities that have been underrepresented in medical research. The Senior Associate will support our client, the National Institutes of Health’s (NIH) All of Us Research program. Key responsibilities will include communications support to a network of national and local organizations funded to educate their communities about research and the value of participation in the program. The Senior Associate will serve in both a strategy and execution role, working with program partners while managing and overseeing key processes and communications strategy and execution. The Senior Associate will also assist with developing and advancing the brand positioning of Pyxis Partners with both internal and external audiences. The Senior Associate reports to the Senior Director.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee communications efforts, including: event promotion and asset creation; opinion pieces and blog posts; drafting of social content for a variety of platforms; message training and presentation creation and pulling key KPIs to help partners tell the story of activity and impact with a focus on effectively communicating with diverse

    communities.

  • Assist the Senior Director in the development of effective communications strategies to drive towards outcomes aligned with program goals.

  • Facilitate meetings as necessary, contribute to project documentation, information collection, dissemination and reporting as needed.

  • Provide strategic and culturally aligned communications support to community-based partners in areas that are underserved/underrepresented in medical research to advance education, awareness, and enrollment of their community members in the NIH All of Us Research Program

  • Design and produce culturally aligned promotional materials using the NIH All of Us Research Program brand guide for use by community-based partners to promote involvement in the All of Us Research Program

  • Assist in year-long process of documenting Pyxis Partners work, activities, milestones and other content in writing, photos, images, interviews, and data, for the annual Impact Report

  • Serve in a strategic project leadership role; assist the team in developing process improvements and project governance

  • Mentor team members. Promote positive interactions among staff and participates as an active team member. Serve in a “leadership by example” role.

  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (Masters a plus) and a minimum of three years’ professional experience in communications to advance community health, media relations, writing about health for various types of communications platforms and audiences, working with diverse communities and community organizations, developing communications strategy, and basic graphic design skills.

  • Capacity to think strategically to solve problems, improve or develop new processes and make decisions and recommendations to managers.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills;

  • Direct experience working with communities that have been underserved and/or underrepresented in medical research a plus.

  • Experience working seamlessly and successfully as part of a fast-paced, matrixed team where collaboration, communication and teamwork is essential.

  • Ability to deliver high-quality work products with limited oversight.

  • Ability to effectively communicate the Pyxis Partners value proposition, services, and processes.

  • Bring a flexible and problem-solving mindset to client work that demonstrates thought leadership and improves processes or services.

  • Proven track record of meeting measurable goals to develop and sustain high-level stakeholder relationships.

  • Demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively with diverse teams.

  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and meet tight deadlines and deliverables.

  • Thrive in an agile and adaptable culture that is focused on client, organizational and staff growth.

  • Strong analytical ability, sound judgment, and capacity to think strategically and multi-dimensionally to solve problems and make decisions and recommendations to Pyxis leadership.
