### The Opportunity

Delaware North Parks and Resorts is hiring a Senior Communications Manager to join our team at the Kennedy Space Center in Merritt Island, Florida. As a Senior Communications Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all public relations efforts and social media content for Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex with the primary goal of generating attendance-driving publicity and consumer interest. ### Pay

Minimum – Anticipated Maximum Base Salary: $68,300 – $92,200 / year

In addition to base salary, we offer an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan. ### Responsibilities

– Manage Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex Public Relations strategy, plan, and execution. This role manages a team of three, including a Social Media Manager.
– Write, review, and edit diverse content including news releases, promotional copy, web content, speeches, scripts, business reports, exhibit signage, internal messages, and FAQs.
– Develop fact sheets and content for new products, events, attractions, and programs; manage annual and individual public relations plans, including major attraction openings.
– Oversee media relations, including on-site photo, video, and film shoots; coordinate media interviews, comp tickets, familiarization tours, desk side briefings, media kits, and public relations campaigns.
– Manage and develop the public relations budget within the marketing budget, maintaining the online press room, handling media inquiries, and collaborating with NASA on contract requirements and initiatives.
– Create and execute yearly social strategy, supervise charity ticket donations, special events, scholarship requests, and coordination with organizations like Give Kids the World and Make a Wish.

### Qualifications

– Bachelor’s degree in marketing, education, public relations, business, planning, or related field.
– 8-10 years of public relations experience with attractions or themed park environment preferred.
– Experience with crisis management at a large organization preferred.
– Experience managing a team of multiple disciplines.
– Strong current knowledge of NASA programs and experience working within a federal government contract environment is preferred.
– Strong cross-discipline knowledge or experience in marketing, sales, operations, education, outreach, retail, food and beverage operations, and promotional needs.
– Possess a thorough understanding of property mission statement, educational and interpretive principles, operational flow, revenue stream expectations and opportunities, financial reporting and analysis, sales opportunities, and marketing analysis and trends.
– Expertise with Microsoft Office programs.
