Summary of Position:

Under the guidance of the Chief Impact and Engagement Officer, the Senior Director, Marketing and Communications will oversee the development and management of Child Care Aware® of America’s marketing strategy required to support the long-term strategic direction of the organization. This role is responsible for the integration of effective marketing and communication strategies, both internally and externally, across all functional areas of the organization. This position is a member of CCAoA’s leadership team and serves as a key business partner on organization-wide strategic priorities.

Position Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and execute a strategic marketing and communications plan focused on the implementation of divisional and overall organizational growth strategy.
  2. Develop marketing analytics and provide analysis to inform and guide the marketing strategy. Must continuously track and iterate plans to achieve established goals.
  3. Identify appropriate media channels in collaboration with leadership to execute all marketing campaigns.
  4. Work cross-functionally to prepare, deliver, and disseminate materials and communication that is direct, compelling, and concise for members and other key audiences.
  5. Must have the ability to underscore the unique value the organization brings while stressing that we are informative, responsive, and innovative.
  6. Develop the marketing team and help manage performance and resources.
  7. Oversee the development and production of all marketing assets, collateral communication materials, and social media initiatives.
  8. Partners with the Chief to deliver a compelling branding strategy that supports CCAoA’s strategic goals and objectives.
  9. Ensure that brand identity, messaging, and marketing and communications strategy are infused in all organizational efforts (programming, development, network support).
  10. Oversee the daily activities of the Marketing Department, including managing the website, membership marketing, event marketing, product marketing, budgeting, and planning.
  11. Lead and manage committees or groups and support the Senior Leadership Team in internal/external communications about the vision and overall strategies of the organization.
  12. Promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement and develop staff using a supportive and collaborative approach.
  13. Responsible for staff performance and development goals, establish staff priorities, and conduct annual performance appraisals.
  14. Manage all plans and efforts in the creation of high quality, timely and high-impact outputs while promoting an environment of shared success and teamwork.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, marketing, public relations, or related discipline.
  • 10+ years of relevant communications and marketing experience, including execution of internal communications and multi-channel marketing programs.
  • Track record of setting key performance indicators and award-winning campaigns that exceeded results.
  • Must have strong people development/leadership capability and interpersonal skills.
  • Must have outstanding creative, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Must have a proven track record of launching content-rich campaigns across all platforms while working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have demonstrated ability to grow awareness and increase engagement.
  • Prior association experience a plus.
