The Senior Communications Director is a battle-tested campaign strategist and war-room leader who operates at the speed of political campaign news cycles. Reporting to the CEO and serving on the Senior Leadership Team, the Senior Communications Director leads an aggressive, high-velocity communications engine designed to win votes, persuade targeted policymakers, and shape national narratives across federal and state battlegrounds. The Senior Director pivots instantly as news breaks, executing intra-day rapid response, deploying high-impact spokespeople, driving rapid-turnaround paid/earned/digital campaigns, and fiercely countering opponent narratives to advance ABIC’s mission and priorities.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Proactive Narrative Framing & Campaign Execution
Proactively define and drive ABIC’s national and battleground narrative; develop offensive messaging playbooks designed to persuade targeted policymakers, sway fence-sitters, and win key legislative votes on immigration solutions.
Transform communications operations into a high-velocity daily campaign apparatus, constantly injecting ABIC’s narrative positioning into fast-moving news cycles to dictate media coverage across targeted state and federal markets.
Rapid Response & “War-Room” Management
Build and lead a nimble, “war-room” rapid-response capability to monitor breaking federal/state legislative and political developments, instantly draft counter-messaging, issue reactive press statements, and position ABIC spokespeople during high-velocity news cycles.
Direct real-time media monitoring to deploy messaging, statements, and op-eds continuously throughout the day to drive headlines and control the narrative as news develops.
Spokespeople Deployment & Management
Build, train, and manage a rapid-deployment spokespeople group featuring business CEOs, influencers, and bipartisan coalition voices.
Ensure ABIC spokespeople are prepped, cleared, and deployed onto broadcast, print, radio, and digital outlets within minutes of news breaking across key battlegrounds.
Opposition Counter-Strategy & Narrative Defense
Direct aggressive counter-messaging operations designed to neutralize opponent talking points, dismantle hostile narratives, and support ABIC’s priorities.
Implement real-time digital and media intelligence to track opponent campaigns, identify narrative threats early, and launch immediate strategic counter-offensives.
QUALIFICATIONS
Campaign & War Room Record: Proven track record of executive leadership in senior level political or issue campaigns, high-stakes advocacy war rooms, or fast-paced legislative fights.
Rapid Response Track Record: Demonstrated experience operating in high-pressure, rapid-response political or media environments, with a track record of driving headlines and controlling narratives during fast-moving news cycles.
Intra-Day Deployment Experience: Proven ability to manage daily media cycles, pre-clear high-level surrogates, and execute rapid response across TV, radio, digital, and print throughout the day.
Legislative Persuasion Focus: Deep understanding of how to align communications strategy directly with vote-counting, policymaker persuasion, and constituency mobilization under tight deadlines.
