About the Role
Workday Inc is seeking a Federal Program Manager to join our team and support our growing Federal business. As a change agent, you will collaborate with executive leadership, program sponsors, business leads, and technology teams to drive the successful implementation of large-scale, cross-organization strategic programs aimed at enterprise growth in the Federal market and operational effectiveness.
About You
Are you a passionate and driven program manager looking for a unique opportunity to make a significant impact? We are looking for an experienced program manager who understands the federal and public sector space and the value of structure while balancing the need for agility and innovation within that framework.
Leveraging transformation program management best practices, this role will lead the facilitation of business strategy definition, scope identification, cross-functional design, timeline alignment, and driving on-time delivery of committed outcomes and deliverables.
Basic Qualifications
- 7-10+ years of progressive, cross-organizational program management experience, with a preferred focus on highly visible, large-scale strategic federal and/or public sector initiatives.
- Track record of success in crafting, developing, and implementing new business, compliance, and delivery processes for software or SaaS companies entering the federal market.
- Proficiency in analytical thinking and the ability to make informed business decisions in complex scenarios, while optimally conveying ideas through various mediums. High attention to detail, process, and organization.
- Must have ability to establish and maintain strong relationships at all levels of the organization, with a proven track record of influencing and working with executive leadership.
Other Qualifications
- Excellent interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with executive leadership, cross-functional teams, and third parties.
- Experience with and knowledge of design thinking, strategy definition, and agility concepts, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and constantly evolving environment.
- Collaborate with the business lead and executive sponsor to design, develop, and implement new business, compliance, and delivery processes for our Federal market.
- Lead and support cross-functional program teams across multiple workstreams, creating integrated program plans and goals.
- Monitor progress and report on program objectives and goals.
- Facilitate cross-functional meetings, identifying inter-program dependencies and ensuring alignment of functional deliverables and plans.
- Preference for experience in the federal government business model of $500M+.
- Technical background desirable.
- Flexibility and adaptability to work in ambiguous situations and quickly adjust priorities as needed.
- Create and implement internal communications strategies.
- Proactively identify risks and issues, and implement mitigation plans.
- Assist in the implementation and management of executive governance and operational working practices required for the program.
In this position, you will have the chance to join an exceptional team that is a key Strategic Growth Initiative for Workday as we enter the Federal Government market. You will apply design thinking and systems thinking to enhance speedy delivery and use project management tools like Smartsheet. We prioritize open and efficient communication and expect you to actively share program updates and make necessary adjustments to the roadmap.

The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations are listed below. Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants.
